Mitti 1.5 released

Hi there! We are happy to announce a new update for our pro video cue playback app Mitti: version 1.5 - this is a big update with many long-awaited new features and improvements. Mitti 1.5 requires macOS 10.12 or higher.

What's New?

Transition on Play Selected & Jump

There is a new global playlist option called Transition on Play Selected & Jump to..., which is enabled by default and makes Mitti to perform a smooth Transition when you call Play Selected Cue - by hitting Enter for example - or use one of the Jump commands.

This function uses the default Transition and Transition duration you set in Playlist Preferences.

In case a Cue is shorter than the duration set for Transition - and the Cue is not looping - Mitti automatically decrease the duration of it on the fly.

Multi-Channel Audio Support

Multi-Channel audio playback now supported, and works out-of-box if you select a multi-channel playback capable audio device.

Output channel routing is also supported - Cues using what you set in Audio Preferences by default, but you can override this on a per-Cue basis in Cue Preferences.

Audio Delay

Now it is possible to set delay on audio (ms) in Preferences - Audio Output to fix latency issues introduced by other video gear.

Geometry Controls

In Cue Preferences you can find the Geometry options, where you can change the Aspect Ratio of a file with the corresponding Fit/Fill/Stretch options and also Scale and Position.

Transcode to ProRes & HAP

Got new and untested files last minute? No problem, we have added option to the Cue right-click menu that transcode movies to the recommended ProRes or HAP video codec. Audio tracks will remain untouched.

Transcoded files are added to the ~/Movies/Mitti/Transcoded folder with the ProRes or HAP suffix.

Align to Next Minute or Hour for non-movie Cues

Still images, Syphon and NDI sources, so non-movie Cues now have an option to automatically set their duration to be aligned to the Next Minute or Next Hour.

This feature is especially useful when you are using Mitti in LTC/MTC Timecode slave mode with Still Images - as a workaround - for setting the Start Time of Video Cues.

OSC/UDP Additions

  • All /toggle... commands now really working as toggles
  • Added /mitti/{cue}/play OSC/UDP command
  • Added /mitti/playCueAtIndex OSC command
  • Added /mitti/cueTimeElapsed OSC feedback message

New Behaviour Options

Now you can define the behaviour of the Panic action - fading out then Pause or Rewind the current Cue.

It is also possible to set the default state of the Loop and Transition on Play... features in Playlist Preferences.

Other improvements

  • Added option to set Custom Transition Time in seconds
  • Added option to set the Default Transition
  • When selecting Cues by keyboard scroll the Playlist
  • Supported MXF container and codecs like AVC-Intra when Pro Video Formats are installed
  • Switched to NDI 3.8
  • Monitoring file availability - so if you remove a thumb-drive, corresponding Cues will be marked as missing
  • Always display validity for rental licenses

New Licensing System

Mitti 1.5 introduces a new Licensing System, so on the first run Mitti 1.5 requires internet connection to upgrade your license to be used with the new version. This is an automatic process and requires only a moment - when it is done you will see this window:

With the updated licensing system we will be able to merge licenses and add extra seats to existing site licenses.

Update: because of these changes, license keys issued from now cannot activate Mitti 1.3.2 and older versions.
